Host your songwriting camp in Santa Monica. The whole studio, writing at once.
In October 2026 Level Up ran its trailer-music writing camp at Paradise: about 20 writers producing and recording in nearly every room at the same time. The whole studio starts at $850 a day with our engineer, or $400 with your own.

Level Up’s trailer-music camp, October 2026
Level Up brought about 20 songwriters and producers to write and record music for film and trailer sync, and Paradise sponsored the camp. One vocal booth doesn’t go far with that many writers, so our engineer re-routed the studio and the teams worked in nearly every room at once.
“Paradise Recording provided an awesome studio experience for the Level Up songwriting/trailer camp we put on. The staff was super helpful with all the setup and took great care of us.”
“Great host for our Level Up LA Trailer Music camp. Looking forward to returning!”
“Loved recording here for the Level Up Writing Camp!”
More from the camp is on our Google profile.
How a camp day works
Several rooms working at once
Tell us how many writing teams you're running. For Level Up, our engineer re-routed the studio so teams could produce and record in nearly every room at the same time instead of queuing for one booth.
The whole place, all day
A camp takes the entire studio: the Rainforest vocal room, the Rock live room, the control room and the lounge. Nobody else is booked in, and we're open 9 am — 2 am, every day.
Instruments already in the room
The Rock Room has a Mapex kit that stays set up, a 1917 Chickering baby grand, a guitar amp and a bass amp. Writers bring their own guitars, laptops and controllers.
Leave with the sessions
Every team leaves with its files. Tell us what your library or supervisor wants delivered, such as instrumentals, stems or alternate versions, and the engineer exports to that list.
camp rates
The whole studio, from the standard day rate
A camp starts from the same whole-studio day anyone can book. The quote depends on headcount, how many rooms are running and how many days, so camps are arranged by message before anything is paid.
from $850/12-hr day
Our in-house engineer sets up the rooms, runs the studio and exports every team’s files. A 6-hour block is $450.
from $400/12-hr day
Rent the Room: the whole studio with the recording gear live and no staff engineer on the clock. $40 an hour for shorter days.
Standard bookings are for up to 8 people. Groups of about 20, multi-day camps and anything that needs the rooms set up a particular way start with a message. Every other price is on the rate card.
Writing for sync
Trailer cues, library music and songs written to a brief all get made the same way here: write in the room, record it properly, leave with files your supervisor can use. If the project needs a voice as well as music, voiceover is recorded in the same studio, and the keepers can go straight to mixing and mastering.
More room down the hall
The Private Lounge and The Bright Office Suite are in the same building and book separately on Peerspace from $100 an hour. They suit a kickoff briefing, a meal or an end-of-day listening session. See the lounge or the suite.
Writing camp questions
- How many people can a writing camp bring?
- Level Up's camp was about 20 people. Ordinary sessions are booked for up to 8, so a camp is set up by arrangement: message us with your headcount and how many teams you want writing at once, and we'll plan the rooms around it.
- How much does it cost to host a songwriting camp at Paradise?
- Camp days start from the 12-hour whole-studio day: $850 with our engineer, or $400 if you bring your own engineers and producers. A 6-hour block with our engineer is $450. The final quote depends on headcount, how many rooms are running and how many days, so message us with the plan.
- Can several teams record at the same time?
- Yes. That is how the Level Up camp ran: teams producing and recording in nearly every room of the studio at once, with our engineer re-routing everything to make it work. Tell us the plan ahead of the day so the rooms are set before your writers arrive.
- Is an engineer included?
- On the $850 day, yes: our in-house engineer runs the studio. If your camp travels with its own engineers or producers, the Rent the Room rate is $40 an hour or $400 for the 12-hour day, with our recording gear live and no staff engineer on the clock.
- Do you host sync and trailer-music writing sessions?
- Yes. Level Up's camp wrote and recorded music for film and trailer sync here in October 2026. Publishers, libraries and labels can book the studio the same way, for a single day or a run of days.
- Is there somewhere for the group to eat, meet or listen back?
- The studio has its own lounge and kitchen. For a bigger briefing, a listening session or a meal, The Private Lounge and The Bright Office Suite are down the hall in the same building and book separately on Peerspace from $100 an hour.
- Can you mix the songs after the camp?
- Yes. Mixing and mastering are priced per song and done remotely, so you can send us the keepers after the camp and get finished masters back.
- Where are you and how is load-in?
- 1505 4th St, Suite 219, in downtown Santa Monica, two blocks off the Third Street Promenade. The studio is one flight up with no elevator, and the city's public parking structures are a block or two away.
