Neither booking puts a staff engineer on the clock. A rehearsal is the Rock Room and the lounge, with the Rainforest Room and the recording gear locked. Rent the Room is the whole studio with the rig running.

Rent the space by itself. The Rock Room and the lounge with the backline — Mapex kit, baby grand, guitar amp, bass amp and PA — at full volume (ideally after 5 pm), with nobody else booked in. Bring your own instruments. The Rainforest Room and the recording gear stay locked: no recording engineer, no console time; just the room.

The Rainforest Room was built for voices — plants, treated walls, an SM7B and a Manley Reference Gold, and a signal chain that makes a conversation sound expensive. An operator sets levels and room tone before you sit down, so you spend your hour talking instead of troubleshooting.

- How much does it cost to rent the studio?
- Two rates, both with a 2-hour minimum. Rehearsal — the Rock Room, the lounge and the full backline, no recording — is a flat $30 an hour. Renting the whole studio with the mics, outboard and the Apollo live — you bring your own engineer and leave with your files — is $40 an hour, or a flat $400 for a full 12-hour day. No tiers, no negotiating.
- What's the difference between the $30 and the $40 rate?
- The recording rig, and how much of the studio you get. At $30 an hour you get the Rock Room, the lounge, the backline and the PA — turn up and play — while the Rainforest Room and the recording gear stay locked. At $40 an hour the whole studio is yours and the control room is live: mics, preamps, outboard and the Apollo, ready for the engineer you bring. Neither rate puts a staff engineer on the clock; for that, book a recording session with ours.
- Do I really get the whole studio?
- On Rent the Room, yes — the Rainforest vocal room, the Rock live room, the control room and the lounge are all yours. A rehearsal gets the Rock Room and the lounge; the Rainforest Room and the recording gear stay locked. Either way, nobody else is booked in the building while you're here.
- Can I bring my own engineer?
- That's the $40-an-hour Rent the Room booking. Your engineer runs the session on our gear. Give us a heads up before the day so we can walk them through the patchbay and the Apollo routing — it saves an hour of your own clock.
- Do you have a minimum booking?
- Both rentals have a 2-hour minimum. Anything shorter spends more time on load-in and setup than on the actual work.
- Is there a discount if we record here regularly?
- Yes, on the bring-your-own-engineer rate — buy in bulk. Buy 15 or more room-only hours up front and the rate drops from $40 to $40/hr. The hours sit on your account, never expire, and you schedule them yourself whenever you like. If you want our engineer on your sessions, the same block is $70/hr. Rehearsal is already $30 an hour walk-in, so a bulk block would cost you more — just book it online.
- When can we book?
- The studio runs 9 am — 2 am, every day, and either rental can be booked in any open hour — including evenings and weekends. A rental needs the whole building free, so the further ahead you book, the better your odds.
- How much does it cost to rent a podcast studio in LA?
- Posted podcast studio prices on the Westside run from about $80 an hour for a room you run yourself to around $290 an hour for a four-camera video set (September 2026). Ours is audio only: $95/hr with an engineer on the clock, or $225 for a two-hour Episode Block with same-day file delivery — and $200 a session with the Four-Pack if you're recording on a regular schedule.
