podcasting

Two mics, two chairs, a room that flatters both.

The Rainforest Room was built for voices — plants, treated walls, an SM7B and a Manley Reference Gold, and a signal chain that makes a conversation sound expensive. An operator sets levels and room tone before you sit down, so you spend your hour talking instead of troubleshooting.

Hourly

$95/hr

Operator included, 2-hour minimum. Good for one-offs and guest drop-ins.

The Episode Block

$225

Two hours, engineer, up to 3 mics, room tone and levels set before you sit down, edited-ready files delivered the same day.

Four-Pack

$800

Four episode blocks at $200 each, for shows on a schedule. Same slot held week to week so your guests always get one address.

Learn in the room instead.

We also teach here — one-on-one sessions in Ableton, Pro Tools, and Logic, and a two-day mixing intensive with Garrett, our lead engineer. Same rooms, same gear, someone showing you how it actually works.

rental questions

Good to know.

How much does it cost to rent the studio?
A flat $50 an hour for the entire studio — both rooms, the full backline, and every mic and piece of outboard in the building — with a 2-hour minimum. A full 12-hour day books at a flat $500 instead of $600. No tiers, no negotiating.
Can I record during a rental, or is it rehearsal only?
Both. If you're rehearsing, plug in and get loud. If you bring your own engineer, the control rooms, mics, preamps, outboard, and the Apollo are all included — you walk out with your files. The only thing a rental doesn't include is our staff engineer.
Do I really get the whole studio?
Yes — a rental takes the entire facility. Both rooms are yours and nobody else is booked in the building while you're here. That's also why the calendar shows fewer open slots for rentals than for single-room sessions.
Can I bring my own engineer?
That's the whole idea. Your engineer runs the session on our gear. Give us a heads up before the day so we can walk them through the patchbay and the Apollo routing — it saves an hour of your own clock.
Do you have a minimum booking?
Every rental has a 2-hour minimum. Anything shorter spends more time on load-in and setup than on the actual work.
When can we book?
The studio runs 9 am — 2 am, every day, and rentals can be booked in any open hour — including evenings and weekends. A rental needs the whole building free, so the further ahead you book, the better your odds.
How much does it cost to rent a podcast studio in LA?
LA podcast studios typically run $50–200 an hour depending on whether an operator and video are included. Ours is $95/hr with an engineer on the clock, or $225 for a two-hour episode block with same-day file delivery — and $200 a session if you're recording on a regular schedule.
