Treated walls and a wall of plants keep the room quiet and the voices close. This is the same chain our vocal sessions run on — it just happens to be perfect for two people talking. It comes with the rest of the building: every booking is the whole studio, so nobody else is here while you record.

How a podcast session works
Pick a block
Hourly with a 2-hour minimum, or the two-hour Episode Block if you know how long your show runs. Shows on a schedule take the Four-Pack and keep the same slot every week. Want to book online right now? A standard 2-hour session with our engineer works too.
Walk in to a set room
An operator has levels, room tone and headphone mixes dialed before you sit down. You don't touch a knob unless you want to.
Bring your guests
Up to three mics on the table, a couch for whoever's waiting, and one address to send every guest to. Downtown Santa Monica, two blocks off the Promenade.
Leave with the files
Episode Blocks and Four-Packs come with edit-ready files the same day, for your editor or for ours if you'd rather hand it off. Hourly bookings and standard sessions leave with the raw files at the end. Ask about mixing when you book.
Podcast studio questions
- How much does it cost to rent a podcast studio in Los Angeles?
- On the Westside, posted podcast studio prices run from about $80 an hour for a room you run yourself to around $290 an hour for a four-camera video set (September 2026). At Paradise it is $95 an hour with an operator and a 2-hour minimum, or $225 for a two-hour Episode Block with same-day files. Weekly shows take the Four-Pack: four Episode Blocks for $800, which works out to $200 a session. A standard 2-hour recording session with our engineer is $160 and books online.
- Do you record video podcasts?
- No. We record audio only, and there are no cameras in the room. If your show needs video, most dedicated podcast studios on the Westside sell multi-camera sets; our comparison of Westside podcast studios lists who offers what.
- Is an engineer or operator included?
- Yes, on every podcast booking. They set levels and room tone before you arrive, ride the session, and hand you the files afterwards. You do not need to know anything about audio to sound good here.
- How many people can record at once?
- Up to three mics on the table. The Rainforest Room — one of the spaces your booking includes — is built for voices and seats a host plus two guests comfortably, with the lounge next door for anyone waiting to go on.
- What microphones do you use for podcasts?
- Shure SM7Bs for most voices — the standard broadcast mic — and a Manley Reference Gold tube condenser when a host wants a bigger, more intimate sound. Everything runs through API preamps into a UAD Apollo, so the raw files already sound finished.
- Do I get the files the same day?
- Yes. Episode Blocks and Four-Packs include edit-ready files the same day. On hourly bookings and standard sessions you leave with the raw files at the end of the session. If you want us to edit or mix the episode as well, mention it when you book and we'll quote it alongside the session.
- Can I book a podcast session online?
- The podcast packages are booked by message or phone. A standard 2-hour recording session with our engineer ($160) can be booked online any time, and it works for a podcast too.
- Where are you and is there parking?
- 1505 4th St, Suite 219, in downtown Santa Monica — two blocks off the Third Street Promenade. There is street and structure parking around the block, and the studio is one flight up (no elevator). We are open 9 am to 2 am every day, so evening and late-night recordings are easy.
- Can I rent the room without an operator?
- Yes — book the whole studio and bring your own engineer for $40 an hour on the rentals page, or rehearse in the Rock Room for $30 an hour with no recording. Most podcasters take the operator: it is the difference between running a show and running a mixer.
